Larry Brandon published a chess philately newsletter, Philatelic Caissa, from November 1966 through November 1968. He faced the challenge of putting out a fledging publication with just a typewriter and a mimeograph machine at his disposal.
The articles and the letters to the editor have a wonderful informal, historic feel, but there is also a great deal of useful philatelic information. A well known philatelist and chess stamp dealer, Bob Long, began writing for this publication before starting his own soon after Philatelic Caissa ceased publication.
If you do not have the issues, fear not. We are providing most of them here. The early numbers are difficult to read but print acceptably on a color printer. Please contact the editor if you can provide the missing pages/numbers.
Notice that one feature, spread among several issues, is an early bibliography of chess stamp articles. The bibliography is itself a useful resource. I wonder how many of you have seen even half of the articles listed there?
